How it works

How PennyGuard works

Connect once. See everything. Confirm what you want. PennyGuard reads your transactions, shows what is recurring and which card perks apply, and prepares the next step. Nothing happens to your money until you confirm.

Pay with a card or Apple Pay

Start your membership with a card or Apple Pay. You see what you will be charged and when before you pay.

Sign in with Apple or Google

Create your account with Apple or Google. Signing in is separate from connecting your accounts.

Connect your card, bank and email

Link a card or bank through Plaid with read-only access. We never see your bank login. Adding Gmail, Outlook or Yahoo is optional and gives a fuller picture.

Step 3

Review what we find

Review what we find

Review what we find

PennyGuard goes through your transactions and puts each one in context.

Recurring charges

Subscriptions, recurring bills and duplicate charges, found from your bank and your email together.

Changes worth a look

Price increases, unfamiliar charges, and trials with other services that are about to end. Alerts come by email and in the app.

Perks your card already offers

Cashback or perks your card offers on a purchase, shown with the conditions. Your bank or card network pays them on its own terms.

Answers from Penny

Ask Penny, the text assistant, about a specific charge and get an answer in plain English.

Information comes from the accounts you connect. New charges appear after your bank or card shares them, so the most recent ones can take some time to show up.

Step 4

Confirm an action

Confirm an action

Confirm an action

When something needs action, PennyGuard prepares it and shows you what will happen. Nothing is sent until you confirm.

Cancellation

For supported services, PennyGuard guides you through canceling. The request goes out through an AI agent, an email from your account, or a partner.

Usually minutes to a few days

Refund request

PennyGuard helps you ask the merchant for a refund. The merchant makes the decision.

Usually days or weeks

Bill negotiation

A partner contacts your provider to try to lower a bill. This service has a separate fee, shown before you start.
